Modernita a holocaust

Abstract

Téma diplomové práce Modernita a holocaust odkazuje na stejnojmennou knihu polského sociologa Zygmunta Baumana. V této knize Zykmund Bauman analyzuje vztah mezi modernistickým myšlením a holocaustem z pohledu sociologie. V mé diplomové práci se zabývám návrhem Dokumentačního centra, na které byla v Brně vyhlášena uzavřená architektonická soutěž. Téma je pokračováním předešlého předdiplomního projektu, ve kterém jsme analyzovali především Baumanovy teze. Tyto analýzy nám pomohly pokračovat v návrhu centra se zcela novým pohledem, nejen na společnost, ale i na architekturu samotnou. V mém návrhu pracuji s problematikou hranic a bariér ve spojitosti s rozdělením lidí a prostorů. Hledám způsoby tvorby prostoru, které svou podstatou zpochybňuje jasné chápání hranic i bariér. Prostředkem pro narušení tohoto chápání se stává právě architektura, která svojí podstatou s hranicemi a bariérami přirozeně pracuje. V mém návrhu pracuji s myšlenkou hranic v různých úrovních. Jak v rovině urbanistické, provozní nebo materiálové. Některé hranice a bariéry v návrhu narušuji, některé vytvářím nebo obracím jejich vztahy.

The topic of the diploma thesis Modernity and the Holocaust refers to the book of the same name by the Polish sociologist Zygmunt Bauman. In this book, Zykmund Bauman analyzes the relationship between modernist thinking and the Holocaust from a sociological perspective. In my diploma thesis I deal with the design of the Documentation Center, for which a closed architectural competition was announced in Brno. The topic is a continuation of the previous project, in which we analyzed mainly Bauman's work. These analyzes helped us to continue designing the center with a completely new perspective of thinking not only about the society, but also the architecture itself. In my project, I work with the issue of borders and barriers in connection with the division of people and spaces. I am looking for a ways of creatig the space that, by its very nature, call into question what is the real meaning of borders and barriers. In my proposal, I work with the idea of borders at different levels. As at the urban, service or material level.In my projcet I am disrupting som of the barriers and borders, I am creating new ones, but I am also reversing the relation ship between each other.
