OLOMOUC – Densification Urbaine – zahuštění zastavění

Abstract

Zahušťování neboli densifikace je výrazný urbanistický trend 21. století v evropských městech. S rostoucí populací přichází totiž otázka, kde stavět? Lze se nadále rozpínat urbanisticky do okolní krajiny? Už dnes cítíme problémy, které s sebou nese růst města do plochy. Opravdu neexistuje jiný způsob, který by byl udržitelný a mohl i zlepšit kvalitu života ve městech? Díky novému využití na první pohled komplikovaných částí města můžeme přispět k rozvoji města. Densifikace je tedy cesta udržitelného rozvoje, a to ekonomického využití městského prostoru. Při analýze struktury města Olomouce vyvstala otázka, kde můžeme zahušťovat a zlepšit tím kvalitu života ve městě? Hned na okraji centra se nacházejí místa, které se pomalu stávají „mrtvými“ a nejsou „obyvatelná“. Tyto místa jsou poblíž městských parků, které vznikly v místech bývalého bastionového opevnění. Mohlo by propojení těchto parků dodat postupný impuls k novému myšlení? Vybrané místo pro návrh studentského centra se nachází na jižním okraji historického jádra u budovy bývalé tržnice. Toto území má velmi komplikované vazby na okolí a jeho potenciál není plně využit. Mohlo by se tedy stát středobodem univerzity, kde se spojuje město s přírodou.

Densification is a significant urban trend of the 21st century in European cities. With the growing population comes the question, where to build? Is it possible to continue to expand urbanly into the surrounding landscape? We already feel the problems that the growth of the city in the area brings with it. Is there really no other way that is sustainable and can improve the quality of life in cities? Thanks to the new use of seemingly complicated parts of the city, we can contribute to the development of the city. Densification is therefore a way of sustainable development, namely the economic use of urban space. During the analysis of the structure of the city of Olomouc, the question arose where we can thicken and thus improve the quality of life in the city? Right on the edge of the center, there are places that are slowly becoming "dead" and not "habitable". These places are close to the city parks, which were created in the places of the former bastion fortifications. Could the interconnection of these parks give a gradual impetus to new thinking? The chosen place for the design of the student center is located on the southern edge of the historic center near the building of the former market. This area has very complicated links to the surroundings and its potential is not fully exploited. It could therefore become the center of the university, where the city connects with nature.
