Abstract
Employees‘ competencies and their management are currently described very well in worldwide literature. This topic follows the eminent changes, which occurred in management sciences additionally expressed with increasing by the role of competencies and intellectual capital. Intangible assets are really important factor in modern companies and they took a strong position by strategical decision of the top management. Competence as we define it today reflects a combination of potential, abilities to detect and solve the problems. And this is what companies today are looking for and what they consider as more and more important. This study attempts to describe and analyze usage and relationship between competencies and managerial work in the companies. The article describes the main concepts related to competence. It combines the managerial work and its relationship with the competencies and models of competencies. Moreover it describes underlying kinds of intelligence as the primary source of competencies of each person. Article describes the relationship between each components and their connection and influence on the outcome.
