The aim of the project is the design and development of the system for the acquisition and processing of EMG signal for an active hand prosthesis. Student designed acquisition and processing system based on Raspberry Pi3, but the performance of the platform is insufficient. Student designed another acquisition system based on Arduino, which is used for data collection and for control of servomotors in hand prosthesis and signal processing methods are implemented using Fuzzy control toolbox in Matlab on personal computer. Designed and implemented system is able recognize some gestures of the arm with satisfactory accuracy. The assignment of the work is completely solved.

Master Thesis of Maximilian Brenner, BSC. discusses the design of a system for controlling a prosthetic hand controlled by EMG signal. The design itself is quite simple, the acquisition system "MyoWare Muscle Sensor" is used, the data from it is digitized using the integrated ADC, using the Arduino UNO platform, it is transferred to a personal computer where signal processing is performed in Matlab. The main program is designed in Matlab Toolbox. This makes the system non-autonomous - making the prosthetic device dependent on the computer. The reason for this is that the Raspberry Pi platform is insufficient for EMG signal processing. I can't agree with that. If the student optimized the code, Raspberry Pi would be sufficient. Alternatively, the student could use DSP for signal processing. The thesis in some places contains inaccurate simplification. Chapter 3.1.2 Figure 12 is not entirely relevant, it is a schematic representation of the oscilloscope manual, not the Fourier transform principle. Figure 16 is also completely unrelated to the topic. Literature study is sufficient. The aim of the work is completely reached, the solution is simple, but it works. Designed system is able to recognize some gestures of the arm with satisfactory accuracy. I propose to evaluate the Thesis „very well“ (B).
