dc.description.abstractThis paper introduces three methods of an automotive refrigeration compressor power measurement and computation. All the methods are evaluated on a test bench with convenient results. The model-based method in combination with the condenser model and condenser fan characteristic is then used for assembly of an optimization problem, which has been solved to find an optimal condenser fan speed for a combination of compressor speed and ambient temperature. This method of condensing pressure (temperature) control can be useful to achieve minimal power consumption of the refrigeration system for electric vehicles and even in other application areas with variable speed compressors and condenser fans.en
